Raj  Ghatak  is an award winning actor. He is known for his versatility on stage, screen and for his voice work. 

Raj trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and Queen Mary University in London. Working seamlessly between theatre, television and film, he has had the privilege of working with Nicole Kidman, Ewan McGregor, Hayley Atwell, Benedict Cumberbatch, James McAvoy, Mark Gatiss, Paul McGann, Meera Syal, Ayesha Dharker and Riz Ahmed among others.

Raj can be seen playing Asif Akhtar in series 4 & 5 of Ackley Bridge on Channel 4, all episodes are available to stream on Netflix & All 4. Raj also played Martin in the second series of Ghosts, and played semi regular Aashiq Sawney in Doctors both for BBC 1. Both are available to watch on iPlayer. Raj has just finished in The Father and the Assassin at the National Theatre, and was original cast in the multi Olivier Award winning Life of Pi at Wyndhams Theatre in London’s West End.

In a ground breaking project written by Charlie Brooker (Black Mirror), Raj was a series regular in the BAFTA winning Dead Set, a cross between reality TV's Big Brother and zombie horror alongside Riz Ahmed, Jamie Winstone and Andy Nyman. Raj has also appeared as Dr Suresh in the BBC’s BAFTA winning flagship Eastenders.

Raj is an award winning actor, winning Best Actor for his portrayal of Amir in The Kite Runner, and nominated for Best Actor and also Best Supporting Performance in a Musical for Sweetie in Bombay Dreams. Other notable stage productions include: the world premieres of Life of Pi, Everybody's Talking About Jamie, The Low Road, Free Outgoing, East is East and West Side Story.

Working with some of the most prestigious theatre directors including Dominic Cooke, Rufus Norris, Indhu Rubasingham, Giles Croft and Kerry Michael, Raj has performed in some of the world’s leading theatres including The National Theatre, The Royal Court, Wyndhams Theatre, Apollo Victoria, Prince of Wales Theatre, Soho Theatre, West Yorkshire Playhouse, The Crucible and the Birmingham Rep. He has also worked internationally many times.
